I am an early riser. I am usually up before sunrise and able to witness the magical moment the light outside the windows changes. Morning is such a hopeful time, a metaphor for how we always have one more chance to try again and get things right.This acrylic painting on canvas is done in very thin sheer layers to let the darker colors of the green and yellow undercoat show through. The translucence of both the under coat and top coat gives the entire picture a warm glow. It’s difficult to capture in a photograph but the lighter color of the air or background is a very pale wasabi green and not white. The sides are left bright white.
